FingerPrint

Cars of Outstanding Preservation

(1981 & Older)

The level of preservation (originality and condition) remains good-outstanding in all four areas (exterior, interior, under hood and chassis).  Identifying "finger prints" have not been lost to either restoration or deterioration.

FingerPrint™ Standards require cars at least 30 years old with all four target sections qualified in order to be eligible for FingerPrint awards.

FingerPrint™ Standards may range from good to outstanding preservation.  However, total refinishing, replacement, damage and deterioration within any one of the four areas must not exceed 25% from factory new.

The panel will decide if the cars (with four targets) meet the FingerPrint Standards.

The panel will consist of three certified examiners.

The panel will be limited to a maximum 20 minute inspection per car.

The panel will decide:

a.  conclusive positive or

b.  inconclusive for each section

The panel will be conclusive by unanimous consent or it will remain inconclusive.

The panel will not declare a "conclusive negative" on any section.

There will be no limit on awards presented; likewise there may be none presented.

Owners may return with more conclusive documentation for future awards.
